Review and swatches of Nyx ultimate shadow palette in Brights:-

As the fever of Nyx mania is increasing its hotness in me so I am here today with another Nyx product review. I already reviewed a beautiful Nyx matte lipstick (you can read it here) that I paired with my recent look ( I posted on my page a few days back). So today I am going to talk about the eyes, the look I created with Nyx ultimate Eyeshadow palette in shade Brights.

Only a Bright palette has the capability to create a bright look, and so when I lay my hands on this palette I came out with something different apart from my usual look. The palette that reminds me of Summer Bright looks finally drags me to create one.

Introduction:-

Nyx Ultimate Eyeshadow palette comes up in three different shades, Smokey and highlight, Brights and Warm Neutrals. Among the three I pick up “BRIGHTS” one.

Nyx Ultimate eyeshadow palette has 16 beautiful bright shades that come up in a small sturdy case. The palette has the mixture of bright matte and shimmer shades. It has four row that is beautifully coordinated with a range of colors. Among the 16 shades 13 are eyeshadows while 3 are pressed pigments.

The first row from the top has the range of reds and pinks while the second row has the range of violets and lavender. The third row has four pretty shades of blue that reminds me of the bright clear sky, while the last row having green and shades of yellow and orange reminds me a colorful scenario of summer.

Packaging:-

The palette comes in a black case with a see through transparent lid having a black border. The case looks really classy and cute. All the shades are visible from outside and so it is easy to pick from stash full of eyeshadow palette. The lid closure close tightly with a click sound while one has to force the lid with nails to open it. So it is a travel-friendly palette. The palette is not huge that you can’t carry in bag neither so small that you can keep it in your purse. It is a nice 4 inch x 4-inch size palette.

 

My experience:-

First of all, I will admit that I am little disappointed with the size of palette compare to the big amount I invest to get it. The palette is just 4 by 4-inch size and each eyeshadow is 0.83gm. But as the tag of expiry has noted down below in the palette so after receiving it I was quite okay with it as I knew I need to use up this one pretty fast (although I know if proper hygiene is maintained, any eyeshadows last for ages. They don’t expire actually).

Coming to the texture, I must say all the shades are damn pretty and have buttery/velvety texture. They blend smoothly and there are minimal fallouts. The palette is a perfect combo of all bright shades. The shades are much pigmented. And they beautifully blend on eyelids. All the shades stay pretty 5 hours without primer and with primer it stays little longer. The size of each shade might be little bothering as they are so small according to eyeshadows from other brands. The palette again has no mirror or eyeshadow applicator/brush so one had to carry both separately.

Overall the palette is very pretty. All the shades are pigmented and have the velvety texture that blends flawlessly on my lids but I personally think the price of the palette is little pricey compared to the quantity we are getting in it. Otherwise, it is a great palette and if you are a makeup enthusiastic then this palette will increase the brightness of your stash and in your makeup.

ColourPop Eyeshadow quad Kathleen Lights "where the Night is"...

Today I am back with another ColourPop review.
It is an eyeshadow quad from Kathleen lights, "where the night is..." After the matte and matte x lippie stix (already reviewed here), my favorite product from Colourpop is their eyeshadows.

Each eyeshadow comes in a single white container. The cute white pot with transparent lid had stolen my heart right away. The transparent lid with the name of "ColourPop" emboss in it look really pretty.

A little info about ColourPop eyeshadows:-

Colourpop comes up with single eyeshadow that is launched either as a set in a collection or as single. You can buy them in a set if they launched in any collection or you can buy as single too. These eyeshadows are never tested on Animals so a big thumbs up and they are made in "city of Angels" LA.

"Where the night is " consist of four beautiful shades, Telepathy–(bright gold with a green undertone/ Ultra- Metallic finish), Weenie–(Pinky rose gold/ Pearlized finish), Porter–(Warm burgundy with gold multi- dimensional gold glitter on top/ Metallic finish, Midnight–(Black undertone with a ton of gold glitter on top/ Metallic finish).

Application tips:-(from website)
For maximum coverage: Use fingertip and tap shadow onto eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush will work fabulously as well and is actually better for a more detailed application close to the lash line. However, your fingertips make for the most intense application. To blend: Use a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip tip of the brush into the shadow and blends with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow softer and more diffused (like a total pro). When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.


My story:-
My love for ColourPop eyeshadow starts when for the first time I saw "Kathleen lights" collection "where the night is..". The collection "where the night is" has four beautiful shimmery/metallic shades that are perfect for creating night look. All the four shades stole my heart, so I decide to grab the set instead of the single piece.

My Experience:-

Coming to the drawback of these eyeshadows which I personally experienced:-

 

The shadows are quite creamy in texture and it feels like butter on fingers. Yet one had to use fingertips for better application of eyeshadows else you can use a wet brush to apply the eyeshadows. All the three shades telepathy, porter, midnight are metallic shades whereas weenie is pearlized finish. The eyeshadows are very pigmented. It stays more than 5 hours plus on my oily lids. It has no fallouts.

ColourPop eyeshadows are so soft in texture that it hardly can survive a fall(i know it is a very common point of every eyeshadow of a different brand). These eyeshadows are so soft that I doubt they can survive in travel or in transit.

Secondly, it is suggested by the brand to tightly close the lids after every application, the reason behind it ColourPop eyeshadows do tends to dry out if not closed tightly. The opening of the lid and closing it back is such a mess that you have to be very very careful while working with 4-5 eyeshadows at one go, I wish they come up in a refill packaging so that it would have been easy to store and carry.

But still I am quite satisfied with the quality and quantity of eyeshadows at this cheap price(which is not, if you buy from Instagram seller) so I can overlook all the drawbacks of ColourPop eyeshadows and might buy few more.

Romancing with Sleek I-divine Vintage Romance Palette:-

Here I am up with a small review on one of recent favorite palette and it’s all from Sleek. Few detailing pictures about the palette is just below...

The palette comes in a beautiful cardboard box. Although the eyeshadow case comes in a matte black case with the name “sleek” written on it. Definitely the packaging of the palette is boring compare to the cardboard which is colorful. So I usually keep the palettes along with cardboard as it is easy to find out the palette seeing the outer box when I am in hurry. But again on second thought I am really thankful to sleek for focusing on the eye shadows mostly not on packaging. As shredding extra bucks just for a cute packaging sometime doesn’t worth.  Moreover the price of palette are really affordable. And thus easy to grab.

Okay next coming to the palette. The palette have some pretty range of shades. It has beautiful shades of golden, silver. It has different shades of purples and blues along with a sparkling black eyeshadow. One can create both day and night look with this one palette. 

Coming to the pigmentation few shades are quite pigmented while few are medium pigmented. I have problem with their fallout issues but then at this price when you getting twelve pretty eye shadows then I think it totally worth the price.

Sleek always try to come up with beautiful palettes, but may be due to under rated media handling I think they are always away from limelight (I wish sleek listen to it). The fallout issues of eye shadows can easily be sorted out with a good eye shadow primer. I always found few shades are chalky in most sleek palette but surprisingly in this particular palette all the shadows have satin texture. Specially the gold and bronze shade have buttery texture. Whenever I swatch the shades I can feel the buttery texture of eye shadows.

And finally here I am experimenting with the palette in two different look :)

So, over in all I just love the palette and definitely it is a must have palette in your kitty.

Review and Swatches of Coastal Scents Revealed 3 palette:-

It is always a tough job for a lazy people like me to review a palette as I really love to play with colors but when it comes about writing a post on it I feel really bored but this palette is something that I am really excited to share my pictures and swatches along with my review.

Yes coastal scents launched three beautiful palettes which are named “REVEALED, REVEALED 2 & REVEALED 3”. The palettes are based on neutrals and it is said that they are pretty close dupe of urban decay naked palettes. Both the other two palettes (REVEALED 1& 2) are very popular and have been hailed by many beauty bloggers and you tubers.  So, among the three I thought to grab the third palette first as there are few shades which I don’t think present in my Urban decay naked palettes so I brought REVEALED 3.

And here it is…tadaaaaaaaa !!!

Price: - $19.95 for 30g for 20 pretty eye shadows.

My experience :-

 

The palette comes in a cardboard box with magnetic lid. The packaging is sturdy but I doubt will it ever survive a fall from hand or not. I wish there is a mirror inside along with a touch up brush so that it would have been travel friendly. The palettes have beautiful 20 neutrals shades from soft neutrals to bold purples and black. One can create a bold and soft look with this same palette. The shades are pretty soft in texture. But there are few shades which have fall outs. Like the matte purple shade has good fallout. Few neutral matte shades are chalky a bit but I think all this chalkiness can be solved with a good eye primer and base. The shades are all medium pigmented except few dark shades which are really pigmented and less fall outs.

The palette is really good for beginners and for those who can’t laid their hands on urban decay palettes due to its unavailability in India or due to high price.  In short, I like the Revealed 3 palette and I am now planning to grab the revealed 2 palette as it has many rosy pink shades.

Finally it's me creating a look using the coastal scents revealed palette 3 !
