REVIEW OF MAC HOT & HEAVY OPALESCENT HIGHLIGHTER (PATRICKSTARRR SUMMER COLLECTION)

Talking about my makeup inspiration there is one name "PATRICKSTARRR" whom I follow blindly. I follow him not only for his makeup but for the kind of person he is actually. His inspiring philosophy, "Makeup is a one-size-fits-all". Such a strong yet so deep meaning lines...


So today I just take out my MAC Hot & Heavy Opalescent Highlighter and thought to review it as it was a long pending post.

Packaging:-

The highlighter comes in a beautiful summery packaging of green, blue, yellow. It shut with a click sound. It has a small round mirror in it. The highlighter itself has an abstract design which makes it look more beautiful and exclusive.

My Experience:-

The highlighter was a limited edition. It is gold with warm, peachy-orange undertones and a frosted sheen. The highlighter has a subtle glow and it is buildable one. But if you are looking for blinding highlighter then this highlighter might disappoint you as this creates subtle glow only. Definitely, the highlighter shade is a versatile shade and so it will look good across all complexion. The highlighter is easy to blend and they don't enhance my pores further. The highlighter stays pretty throughout the day intact during winters and for summers it stays 6-7hours on my oily skin.

Overall I am really glad that I grabbed this highlighter. There are multiple of dupes of this highlighter but when it is Mac and Patrickstarr I think that makes the highlighter exclusive.

REVIEW II SWATCHES II MAC FRUITY JUICY COLLECTION

After a pretty long time here I am back with my favorite brand. Yes, you guessed right. Today I am going to share my reviews, swatches over the newly launched MAC FRUITY JUICY COLLECTION.

The collection launched in India on 10th July 2017. The collection has loads of products among which I picked up two products.
They are a lipstick "LOVE AT FIRST BIT" (lol...funny, I know) and a pearlmatte face powder "OH MY PASSION!".

 The price of the lipstick:- $17(as I bought from abroad, so don't know the exact price in Indian currency)for 3g of lipstick.

The price of Pearlmatte face powder: - Rs.2990/-  for 8g of the product.

MAC FRUITY JUICY COLLECTION is known for its packing firstly. The colorful packaging of this collection is the main attraction. Both the lipstick and the face powder comes in a beautiful black case with special packaging with tropical fruit and floral print. The lipstick open with a twist up the pattern. The face powder comes with a mirror only. The face powder is really beautiful. The first day I saw the sneak peak of this collection I decided that I want this face powder badly in my life. The outer packaging, the self-design face powder itself is so pretty that I hardly had any reason to skip it.

Face powder:-

Mac oh my passion! face powder described by Mac as a face powder with pearlized and satin shades for highlighting and blush effects.

Usage:-
 
     Use a large brush over the face for light application.
    Use a small brush or sponge on eyelids and brow bones as a highlight.

My experience:-

I bought the face powder from Mac store.  The face powder has a floral design on it which consists of a pink, a coral, a yellow flower and a brown leafy like structure. The face powder when swirling with a big blush on all the color of the pan it together creates a beautiful pinkish coral shade which is just perfect for Indian skin tone. The face powder is matte in texture but has subtle shimmer on it and so when ever you applied it on your skin you will get a nice natural glow on skin. Although the face powder considered as a highlighter by Mac I personally love to use it as Blush or as eyeshadow. It stays pretty 7 hours or more on my skin. Overall this one is my favorite in this collection.

Lipstick:- 
 
A Lipstick in lip-smacking beige, fuchsia and violet shades.

My experience:-
 
Among the four lipstick that launched in this collection, I picked up the shade "LOVE AT FIRST BITE", It is an amplified one in texture. The lipstick is a beautiful warm pink shade with a cream finish. It glides super smoothly on lips. But as it an amplified finish so it has a tendency to melt during summer. These lipsticks are perfect for winters. The lipstick neither moisturises the lips nor hydrates it. It stays comfortable on lips for 3-4 hours (if we have heavy oily food in between ). With a lip liner as a base, it stays pretty 6 hours on my lips. One or two swipe is enough to get the color on lips because if you apply more you might feel heavy on lips.
Overall I am kind of love and hate the lipstick.

Mac Vibe tribe Collection for summer 2016:-

“Keeping all the controversy aside, let’s talk about makeup only and let’s adore the product and packaging today”

Mac Vibe Tribe collection that turns out hit internationally due to its stunning shades that are perfect for summer and a little bit of the controversy that it bring along with.

A little Info about the Collection:-

The collection hit the stores internationally on 19th May 2016 and in India in June/July (most probably, correct me if I am wrong).
The prices of each product are slightly higher than the regular one. It is definitely because of the limited edition packaging.

The collection includes eyeshadow palettes, patent polish lip pencil, cream color base, Gleamstones powder, Bronzing Powder, Studio sculpt defining bronzing powder, Technakohl eyeliners, lipsticks, brush, makeup bag, studio nail lacquer and powder blushes.

I grab one lipstick Hot Chocolate which is the hottest selling lipstick in this collection and Matte bronzer (permanent). Yeah, I grab matte bronzer in limited edition packaging as I am a sucker for packaging (I admit openly) and wanted something different packaging for Mac matte bronzer. So when Mac launched its bronzer in limited edition packaging I grab it happily (call me mad: P ).

Price:-

  Lipstick":- $18 (Rs.1600/-).

Matte Bronze Bare shouldered bronze (Permanent):- $27 (don’t know the current Indian price).

Packaging:-

The lipstick and bronzer comes in a beautiful limited edition packaging. The lipstick has the signature smell of vanilla whereas the matte bronzer has no smell at all (it look like chocolate brown, but don't smell like that... :P ).

 

My experience:-

Lipstick:-

The lipstick “Hot chocolate” was the hottest selling lipstick from this collection.  Mac hot chocolate lipstick is a re promote one from a past collection “Apres Chic” collection. I skipped the lipstick from that previous collection as I was little doubt about the lipstick at first because it looks like kind of wash out shade for my warm skin tone. But when Mac re promote the shade in this collection, I decide to give it a try after seeing tons of swatches online.

The lipstick is satin in finish.It is a beautiful brownish plum in a satin finish that goes beautiful with my skin tone. This is a very pretty shade that will suit everyone from fair to dusky skin tone people in its own way. Maybe it is a bit different kind of shade compare to those shades in which I am comfortable mostly (those pinks, reds, and corals). But this shade actually gave me the guts to try different shades and made me re-think that "anyone can carry any shades, depending on the confidence in them to carry it". 

Anyways coming back to review, the lipstick stays pretty 5-6 hours on my lips. The satin finish of the lipstick is quite comfortable on my lips and with hours it turns out matte on my lips(i have dry lips now). The lipstick is not hydrating one but it keeps your lips well moisturized (perfect for dry winters mostly).

It goes perfectly with my brown or black Smokey eyes or any dramatic eyes. I usually love to pair up with bold kajal on my lower lash line.  It is a “must try” shade from this collection.

Bronzer:-

Coming to the bronzer, although it is in this collection in limited edition packaging but it is from Mac permanent line. Honestly speaking the review of Mac bronzer is not good at all, it is because many people complain that it hard to work with such bronzer while few says it hardly show up on skin.

So, when I grab the bronzer I knew it that it not going to impress me as much but at the same time the shade of Mac matte bronzer is the exact shade that I was looking for contouring during day time. It is a light muddy brown kind shade that mostly show up on fair skin people. On my NC 35skin tone(now i am NC 30, as Delhi weather lighten up my skin...:P ), I need a 3-4 swipe to show up on my skin. It is buildable shade but at the same time, it is hard to get the product on the brush. 

Overall the lipstick impresses me a lot whereas the bronzer fails to do that , but I will definitely find a way to use it easily and will share with you all in my tutorial videos.
